The U.S. Government is trying to clasify  electronic cigarettes as a  tobacco product.  If they are successful, the electronic cigarette will be taxed the same as traditional cigarettes.

My question is, wouldn’t other nicotine delivery sytems such as patches, gum and sprays have to be taxed and classified the same way?But mainly, don’t you have to have a tobacco product, to have a tobacco tax?

Another perfect example of our government looking to make more money and not caring about the American People.

The e-cigarette may lighten custodians’ loads around campus, but these tar-free alternatives aren’t marketed as a cureall for those hoping to quit.

Sophomore Tommy Lawler recently made the switch from tobacco cigarettes to an e-cigarette and hasn’t thought of going back.
“I’ve been using it for the last two weeks and it calms my nicotine cravings,” Lawler said. “It was a transition process, but now I just smoke the e-cigarette.”
